During your first appointment, the hearing aid specialist will review and evaluate your hearing health profile in order to pinpoint your needs and recommend the hearing aid most suited to your condition. She will ask you about the main hearing difficulties you may be experiencing.
She will ask you about the major problems that you face in your day-to-day life (i.e. family, social and professional activities).
She will evaluate your hearing with an audiometer, if this test has not already been performed by an audiologist.
The hearing aid specialist will ensure 1) that your hearing health file is complete; and 2) that you have all the required forms to obtain a hearing aid. Please note that you may be eligible for coverage under various repayment plans, including the RAMQ, CSST or Veterans Affairs Canada; your hearing aid specialist will explain all the details.
